The track is part of the album Attention Attention, released in May 2018.

Shinedown has released a new version of their hit "Get Up" from the album Attention Attention Brent Smith 's vocals navigating a poignant piano melody.

“Get Up” was inspired by bassist Eric Bass and is about supporting friends and colleagues who are going through a difficult time. Furthermore, both the song and the album were a result of a complicated phase in Smith's life, marking the vocalist's first sober work with the band.

“We don’t want people to feel ashamed for going through a difficult time,” the singer said, “You won’t be defined by your failures, but by the fact that you didn’t give up.”
